I am a seasoned counsellor with a passion for helping others, a proud mother, and an active partner on our dairy farm in Lennox and Addington County.
My down-to-earth grounded personality, and outlook will encourage you to nurture personal growth and balance in a confidential, non-judgmental space.
My approach is honest and sincere. I am here to support people in the rural and agricultural community who seek change and growth. I understand the unique financial, family, and environmental pressures impacting your life. We work towards finding solutions, using steps that are realistic and manageable, that best fit your lifestyle.
Over the past 14 years I’ve provided counselling services and workshops in education, healthcare, and social services settings. I possess a BAA in Behavioural Psychology, and am an experienced counsellor registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I have worked with a diverse population in the addictions and mental health sector for many years. I strive to support, guide and aid those who are struggling with personal issues. I am very aware that it can be difficult to discuss these issues but also recognize the courage you show just by reading this site.
In 2018, Deborah was contracted as the lead facilitator for the pilot program In The Know, a mental health literacy program for the agricultural industry, which was developed by the University of Guelph. Currently she is a partner with the Lennox & Addington Federation of Agriculture to deliver the L&A Farmer Wellness Program, a pilot project that is dedicated to helping agricultural community members with their mental health and wellness.
I’m ready to help you learn, strengthen and apply usable skills and focus on rebuilding a grounded, balanced self.
Deborah Vanberkel, RP
